The Roosa Fund — formally the Vernon D. and Florence E. Roosa Family Fund — is a charitable fund administered by Block Island Ecumenical Ministries, Inc. (BIEM), a nonprofit voluntary religious association and public charity incorporated in Rhode Island. BIEM acts as a community fund providing educational and charitable support for its home community of Block Island, Rhode Island.

The Roosa Fund makes grants and loans to support nonprofits benefiting the people and environment of Block Island, Rhode Island — including the poor, the young, and the elderly — and responds to the needs of poor people in developing nations.

The Fund’s website is under construction on the WordPress platform. The new site will include updated and revised grant guidelines and procedures, reflecting what we have learned through ten years of working with local, national and international organizations.

We are NOT seeking or inviting new grant proposals while our guidelines are being revised.
